Charitable Trusts and Foundations
The financial support that UCARE receives from charitable Trusts and Foundations has a major impact on our work. Support from Trusts and Foundations is crucial to helping us to find new ways to fight cancer.
UCARE is a grant making charity, and applications for grants are reviewed by our Scientific Advisory Committee and may be subject to external review to help the charity make decisions about funding in line with its objectives. This review process enables UCARE to fund the best quality research by bringing together the knowledge and opinions of researchers, clinicians, and allied health professionals to support research and education in urological cancer, and find better outcomes for cancer patients.
To see what the funding from Charitable Trusts and Foundations has enabled us to achieve to date, please see our projects.
To address the complexity of the challenges presented by urological cancer, and to sustain the appropriate level of research will require UCARE to provide funding well beyond the initial support already raised. It is vital that momentum is maintained, and that ways are found to be able to support current projects for further years and plan for future projects. It is essential that we invest in the tools needed to achieve growth including data base software, computer equipment and staff development.
UCARE's Development Officer will work closely with grant holders who will be expected to meet the correct terms and conditions of a grant, provide an annual review of their work and to ensure that they provide progress reports. Feedback from these reports will be made available.
If you are a Charitable Trust or Foundation and would like to help UCARE by supporting a particular project, invest in essential lab equipment, fund core costs, fund salaries for research teams, or help meet the charity's general research objective, please call Val Berry [Development Officer] 01865 767777 who would be pleased to discuss opportunities with you, or arrange for you to speak to a Trustee.
